Calvary Youth Ministry

Lester Rachel was born in Arcadia, FL, on March 29, 1971. He accepted Christ at the age of ten years old. At the age of sixteen, he realized he wasn’t walking with God as he should and rededicated his life. God then revealed through Romans 12:1 & 2 how he needs to live daily. Lester then began serving faithfully in various roles within the church.

 

In the fall of 1992, Lester met Vicky Branham, the love of his life, and on April 3, 1993 they were married.
 

In 1998, Lester felt God calling him into the ministry. He was licensed and ordained to preach the gospel and he began serving as a Youth Pastor, Music Minister, and Children’s Pastor in both Florida and Alabama at various churches.
     

In February of 2002 God blessed Lester & Vicky with their first child, a son, Colton Zachary Rachel. In April 2004 God blessed them with another son, Parker Branham Rachel.
     

In 2017 God led Lester to Calvary Baptist Church to serve as Youth Pastor and Music Minister.

Calvary Youth Mission Statement

 

The Mission is to provide a Christ-Centered Youth Ministry so young people can:

 

  • Know Christ

  • Grow in Christ

  • Become like Christ

  • Go and serve in Christ's love

 

Providing a Christ centered youth group where young people can know Christ means leading them to:

 

  • Recognize their sin  

  • Repent from their sin

  • Receive Christ, by grace through faith, as Savior

 

Providing a place for them to grow in their relationship with Christ means teaching them to:

 

  • Hear the Word of God

  • Study the Word of God

  • Actively participating in worship

  • Develop the discipline of prayer

  • Deepen their faith through relationships with other believers

 

Calvary Baptist Church Youth Group exists to be salt and light to this world through reaching, teaching, equipping and sending young people to do God’s will.

We meet every Sunday at 10:00 AM

       We dive into God’s word to discover how to live daily.

 

We meet at 7:00 PM every Wednesday for Worship, Games, and Bible Study

       This time allows our Youth to get to know each other better and help them grow as a group.

 

YouthQuake

This is a monthly get-together where we have different activities like Bowling, Mini-Golfing, Swimming, relaxed Movie Nights, Outside games, and a time of Worship. It is usually on the 3rd Saturday of the month.

 

And more...Summer Youth Camp, DNOW Weekends, and other activities.
